Pine Tree Estates is located in Port au Port East, formerly known as Berry Head. The community has a population of approximately 700, 15 minutes west of Stephenville on Route 460. There is an elementary school (Sir Thomas Aquinas) It is also home to Maria Regina Catholic Parish, and St. James Anglican Parish. High Schools are located in Stephenville (Stephenville High) or Picadilly (Picadilly Central High,20 Minute drive) or Ecole St. Anne in La Grand Terre (45 Minute drive) French first language elementary education is also available at Ecole St. Anne and Notre Dame de Cap in Cape St. George (45 Minute drive). The community has a very active volunteer participation in firefighting, Parish associations, the Twilight Seniors Club, and other organizations.
